Downtime

One of the biggest perks of staying on property at Walt Disney World, aside from the magic of being immersed in Disney magic 24/7, is the ability to easily return to your resort for a midday break. When you are travelling, especially with children, I cannot stress enough how important it is to take a few hours in the middle of the day to break and recharge for the evening.
After getting up early to make it to Rope Drop, walking, and waiting for attractions, and using your Fast Passes, grab some lunch, then, head back to your resort for some downtime. Each resort has so much to explore, from amazing themed pools, to finding hidden Mickeys. Spend some quiet time discovering all the unique things your resort has to offer. Then, head to your room for a nap or quiet time. Even a quick 30-45 minute rest will help recharge you for the evening. Be sure to carve out some pool time during your stay as well. The hot tubs are particularly welcoming after a long morning and afternoon on your feet! Giving your family this time will help prevent evening meltdowns. Trust me on this one! We thought we could pull and open to close at Epcot, and by 8:00, we were all having meltdowns (myself included!) I learned from that mistake, and have a break scheduled every day for our upcoming trip. Take advantage of this perk of staying in the middle of the magic, your feet, body, and family will thank you.
